Job Summary:

To promote maximum service to the membership by: directing the construction, maintenance, and servicing of the distribution lines, transmission lines, and related equipment, including metering, using established standards and practices; promoting safety and assuring adherence by employees across the organization to all established safety rules and practices; promoting and developing with the employees, members, general public, and all companies or agencies doing business with Middle Tennessee Electric, an understanding and acceptance of MTE's viewpoints, objectives, policies, and program; and stimulating a high standard of morale among the employees assigned to him/her through creation of team spirit and enthusiasm, and by applying fairly and firmly MTE's personnel policies. Must be a leader for personnel under his/her direction in all phases of their work, safety, personal appearance, and public relations.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Four-year degree from an accredited college preferred.
• Ten (10) years of related experience in progressively responsible positions or equivalent is required.
• Electrical distribution substation, transformer, and meter education and experience preferred.
• Should possess proficient knowledge and use of industry applications pertaining to GIS, CIS, radio, telephony, SCADA, and OMS.
• Must possess and exhibit effective leadership skills to lead, organize, plan, and direct the operation and supervision of Operations Department functions and employees.
• Must be capable of meeting established MTE goals through development and implementation of policies, practices, and procedures.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to think creatively, and be highly driven and self-motivated.
• Must have proficient computer skills, including using Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Willingness to participate in on-the-job training.
